Town of Ipswich Shares Cooling Center Information Ahead of Weekend Heat 

IPSWICH — The Town of Ipswich would like to share cooling center information ahead of weekend heat.

A heat advisory has been issued for the Town of Ipswich with temperatures reaching over 90 degrees, starting Friday, Aug. 5 through Sunday, Aug. 7, according to the National Weather Service. Humidity levels are also expected to be above 50 percent.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant against the heat and take necessary precautions when outdoors.

Ipswich Town Hall, 25 Green St., will be available as a cooling center for residents looking for respite from the heat, and will be open Friday until 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Meeting rooms will be open for use, and restrooms and water filling stations are available on each floor. Coloring books will also be available for children.

The Town of Ipswich would like to emphasize the dangers of overheating and encourage residents to know the signs of heat-related illnesses.
