Town of Ipswich Reminds Residents of COVID-19 Vaccination Eligibility Guidelines

IPSWICH 一 Interim Town Manager Mary Gallivan and Director of Public Health Colleen Fermon would like to remind the community of COVID-19 vaccination eligibility guidelines.

The current COVID-19 vaccination eligibility guidelines are as follows:

Individuals ages 6 months and older should receive a COVID-19 primary series vaccination to prevent COVID-19. Individuals ages 5 years and older should receive at least one booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, if a booster dose is FDA-approved or FDA-authorized for use in a specific population.

Recommendations for booster doses vary by age, COVID-19 vaccine product, and immunocompetence.

Community members should get their COVID-19 booster as soon as they are eligible. Getting a booster dose lowers the risk of severe disease, hospitalization and death, even against emerging variants.

The CDC-recommended schedule and use of each COVID-19 vaccine product varies by the age and immune status of the recipient. There are two vaccination schedules, one for people who are not moderately or severely immunocompromised and one for people who are moderately or severely immunocompromised.
