Ipswich Police Mourn Passing of Retired Officer Edward Rauscher Sr.

IPSWICH — Chief Paul A. Nikas and the Ipswich Police Department regretfully announce the passing of retired Officer Edward Rauscher, Sr. on Thursday, July 29. He was 86. 

Officer Rauscher served the Ipswich Police Department for 37 years, beginning his career in 1957. He served as a patrolman until his retirement in 1994. 

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Officer Rauscher, who was a valued member of our department for over three decades. He loved working for the Ipswich Police Department and being a public servant to the people of Ipswich during his long and honorable career,” said Chief Nikas. “On behalf of the department, I send my thoughts and prayers to  Officer Edward Rauscher’s family during this difficult time.” 

Funeral services for Officer Rauscher will be held next week.
